"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." (Jer 29:11, NLT)

May & June 2011 ... 28.6.11

So I realise that I haven't kept that updated with my blog lately! Sorry for that! And now it's nearly July! So what have I been doing in the last two months?

In May I went to Thailand for two weeks to help Helen Hall at Eden Valley Academy with her teacher training program. All together there were 4 of us training her teachers. Me and 3 staff (David a Pastor from Austria; Bradley an Education Lecturer and his wife Maribel, a nurse from USA) from Asia Pacific International University (Mission College). We trained the teachers for the first week and then I spent a day on the back of a motorbike visiting a couple of ADRA Thailand's projects. One of which was "Sunshine Orchard" a migrant school and orphanage which is right on the Thailand/Burma border. They desperately need volunteers if anyone is interested! It's a beautiful spot right in the mountains with dense jungle all around and a small river running through the property. Unfortunately I forgot to take my camera with me so I don't have any pictures!

I spent my second week in Thailand at Mission College. I stayed with Bradley and Maribel and got to know them well, along with another family from the USA with 3 little girls and David's family. It was fun being able to speak German with David and his wife Doris and 2 little girls Lorna and Lena. At the end of my stay at Mission College David's family came with me back to Wat Preah Yesu and spent the weekend here.

Since my trip to Thailand I have been teaching here at Wat Preah Yesu. At the moment we have a group of 26 prac teachers from Avondale taking most of our classes (all except Kindergarten and Grade 1). And right before Avondale came we had a group of 7 Germans who came to paint the new volunteer houses that are being built at the moment. I got to practice my German with them too!

In other news my bank account was hacked into and cleaned out. My bank is working on getting my money back to me so please pray that if it's God's will for me to have my money returned then He will make it possible.

Also, I am very proud of my little nephew Oliver who had a very successful operation to correct his eyes!

And in 3 weeks my mum is visiting me here! She will be here for 2 weeks and then we will go to India together.

What impressed me the most over the last two months is the ability of people to have faith in God. To believe that God will provide all your needs, even when it seems like everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. That if you dedicate your life to God you will have so many blessings and you will never lack for anything you need.

I felt so blessed visiting Helen, Paul and Lena. Seeing the work that they are doing for God is amazing. Educating children who would otherwise have nothing, no hope, no future. How uplifting and encouraging to meet people who dedicate their entire lives to God!
